Rainy Tsang Chi-Yuen (曾志遠) is a visual effects artist specializing in lighting and look development for feature films and episodic TV. Driven by his passion for crafting world-class visuals, he has contributed to a range of high-profile projects. His film credits include John Wick: Chapter 4, Previously Saved Version, Invincible Dragon, A Beautiful Moment, and ManHunt. On the television side, he has worked on popular series such as What We Do in the Shadows (Seasons 5 & 6), FROM (Seasons 2 & 3), FUBAR (Season 1), Reacher (Season 2), The Fall of the House of Usher, Painkiller, 1923, and God of Lost Fantasy. His work through these projects has been featured globally in cinema theaters, IMAX, and across streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, MGM Plus, Hulu, Paramount Plus, and Tencent Video.
Beyond visual effects, he has also showcased his talents in motion graphics. His professional portfolio features renowned brands such as HKEX, Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC, CFA Institute, SunLife, Prudential, Chow Sang Sang, MSD HK, Philips HK, Bandai HK, Hong Kong String Orchestra, The Parisian Macao, and many more.
Alongside his primary artistic endeavors, he also cultivates a deep love for video production, photography and music. His mastery across multiple mediums allows him to bring a unique perspective to his work, resulting in a rich tapestry of creativity. His diverse interests converge to form a multidimensional artistic expression reflecting his boundless imagination and creativity.
Rainy holds a bachelor's degree in Film and Media Arts from Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). At HKBU, he developed a keen interest in animation and visual effects. In his final year, he created a four-minute animation short titled "Bunny With Shell", which garnered recognition and was widely broadcast on the TV show "Kaleidoscope of Ideas 2016" episode 6 on RTHK. Prior to that, he graduated with distinction from Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), where he pursued a higher diploma in Film and Television. During his two years of study at HKDI, he produced a thirty-minute short film called "Lies Company". In recognition of his outstanding academic performance at HKDI, he was honored with the prestigious Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Scholarship.
